This project is devoted to the development of an advanced virtual reality user interface for Digital Twins (3D-Crane).
A digital twin of a 3D crane is used to demonstrate various automatic control concepts. The digital twin of the 3D-Crane is already developed using Unreal Engine, however, the current implementation uses motion controllers for interacting with the Digital twin ( point and click ). Several virtual reality headsets allow tracking of the user’s eyes. Is it possible to build a more advanced method of interaction with the 3D Crane using the tracked eye-gaze information?
The requirements to take this topic are as follows:
- The ability and desire to work on building advanced user interfaces ;
- Knowledge of the MATLAB/Simulink environment at least on the university course level;
- At least basic programming knowledge, preferably some rudimentary C++ knowledge as well ;
- Knowledge of Unreal Engine 4.
In case of interest, the student will be given a small test assignment to see if he or she fulfills the requirements to tackle this topic.
