Challenges
The Hackathon will challenge teams of competitors to develop innovative solutions for “AI for Energy Efficiency”.
Hackathon Stages:
- First Stage:
- Objective: Teams will develop their solutions using the provided data.
- Submission Deadline: April 1, 2025 (23:59 CET)
- Required Submissions:
- Team name, team leader, and email address for correspondence.
- Names and affiliations of all team members.
- Dataset given to the participants upon deadline for registration.
- Second Stage:
- Objective: Further refinement and development of solutions.
- Submission Deadline: May 15, 2025 (23:59 CET)
- Required Submissions:
- Team name, team leader, and email address for correspondence.
- GitHub repository with the source code and datasets used.
- Final Stage:
- Event Dates: May 29-30, 2025
- Location: Tallinn University of Technology (TALTECH), Tallinn, Estonia
- Activities: Teams will gather at the event venue to finalize their solutions, interact with mentors, and prepare their presentations and demos. Each team will present their developed solution during an allocated time slot.
Task:
Dataset provided to the participants upon deadline for registration:
- Hourly electricity demand of several buildings in TALTECH campus
(365days x 24 hours). - Areas of buildings.
- Local weather data.
Given two month data of a “new” building located in the same campus, predict hourly electricity consumption for the rest 10 months of the year. NB! A “new” building data will be provided at the hackathon.
Evaluation Criteria:
Provided solutions will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- The most accurate prediction (based on calculated MAPE).
- The simplest (most computationally efficient) solution providing reasonable accuracy.
- The most elegant solution (chosen based on the public votes).
Note: A well-presented solution is essential for consideration.
